Poor design - cheaply made - got energy star model (no agitator) - washes clothes in tiny amount of water - "senses" correct water level per load - no way to override water level. Instructions say to pour your detergent on top of dry clothes - you cannot start the fill process, adding detergent and then add clothes - doesn't allow you to do that. Won't start until lid is closed. Soap marks left on all dark clothing - repeated rinses don't wash them out. Twists the clothing tightly - terribly wrinkled - which don't come out in dryer. Have had some items actually ruined. Dryer door and lint filter are cheap, lint is collected on rubber gasket on the bottom of the dryer door. Hit your head on knobs if not super careful when emptying the washer load, poor design. HATE this machine. Don't buy. Only positive is large capacity. Have several other GE appliances that are fine, dropped the ball on this one.

My brand new laundry center was installed on 6/1/2022. The water drops only a few times, not additional water to operate the cycle. Door doesn't lock. Only partially wet clothes stay there. I have no laundry done for 2 weeks, because service appointment is 6/14/2022.
This is 5th GE products I purchased in May. All appliances work fine except this laundry center.
I'm very disappointed with this! I don't like the knob isn't pointing straight to OFF.

I had a 15-year older model of this same washer and dryer that worked great. Sadly, this model doesn't get the clothes clean. It "saves" so much water, it doesn't get the dirt out of a load of jeans. I have been doing laundry for over 40 years and have never seen a worse job than this machine does. I pretreated with Oxy spray, used the heavy colors setting and the correct amount of Tide detergent. I am very disappointed with this machine.

After 15 years with an excellent older version of the same washer-dryer, I am deeply disappointed. The new machine is very rough on clothes and makes loud banging sounds during the end of the wash cycle. Clothes come out very wrinkled, faded, etc. after only one time that came out perfectly for years in the older GE machine. It is so expensive to have to replace clothes but the only other choice is not to clean them. It is a disaster in terms of a major appliance purchase.

Had an earlier version of the GE wash/dry with agitator that lasted 14 years. I like this infusion type. It was a bit to get used to with all the various selections on the dials, but I am honing it down. It does save water, but moreso it saves time because it spends less time filling between cycles. The clothes come out clean and nearly dry on wash spin. Bad part of that is wrinkles. so I need to find ways to compensate. the large tubs are great. The dryer E-Dry also takes some getting used to. Not like my old one, but again it gets the job done. I have only had this for a month so time will tell.

We just installed this yesterday, and were ready for an upgraded replacement for an old stack. This one is beautiful, nice compact size with large interior drums for the laundry. It was a bit louder than I thought it would be- I can hear the wash cycle through the wall. Easy to use knobs and settings.

This machine is really nice and much fancier than my 23 year old Kenmore set. I panicked turning it on and hearing the groaning noises, like in the movie Titanic when the ship is sinking, which turned into a Whaaaa, Whaaa, Whaaa noise for about 20 minutes before the machine starting sounding like a regular washer. After watching all of GE's videos and not hearing these noises I called GE and learned this is the "fancy" auto-water-level sensing system. I wish this top-end model would let us choose our water level and avoid these noises and the extra time it takes to wash one load of laundry. On a positive note, it holds so much more laundry than my old machine which held about a week's worth of clothes. The dryer does a good job with all of the extra wet clothes I now have in every load. I wish you could control whether it beeps or not at the end of a dry cycle.

I bought this washer dryer combo to replace a similar one that was old and and things were wrong with it (came with our condo). I love the large tub and it doesn't have a agitator. The dryer is large too. The down side is there is a a very faint signal for the dryer which doesn't have a way to turn it up. It's really faint. I only hear it if it's pretty quiet in the house. Why they didn't give you a volume setting, I'll never understand. The other down side is it makes a metal rattling like something is kinda loose. I tried pressing around the dryer area but couldn't get it to stop. Not sure what it is but I just shut the laundry door and put on music so I don't hear it. Which of course the leads to me not being able to hear the faint musical buzzer. I am training myself to set my Alexa timer so I can remember to get my clothes out. Other then that I really do like the machine. I am able to wash king soW sheets and even a king quilt. I have washed my love seat and sofa covers too. Everything seems to come out clean and it uses the less water so you can use the HE detergent.

I wanted a washer that would fill while the cover is open. Obviously a front load washer wouldn't work. This washer only fills with the cover down & then locks. Yes you can open the cover when it starts washing but only for a few seconds. I really question the cleanliness of items with the minimum water but that isn't my complaint. I think the instructions are lousy. The dryer works fine. Disappointed with the washer.

I have limited space in my condo and had a laundry center similar to this one included when I moved in, but without all the features this one has for customizing my washing and drying. I love the fact that it's energy star rated with the option of a short wash cycle. Mine does not, unfortunately have a soak cycle as I had hoped, but there are very few compact systems with an impeller rather than an agitator, so it was my obvious choice. I also wish it had some kind of audible signal to indicate when the washer or dryer had finished its cycle. Working very well so far.

This is the Infusor version of the unit which replaced our older stacked GE unit with an agitator that was on its last legs. I like the Infusor much better, mostly because the agitator was always in the way, and tied everything in knots, this stacked configuration is hard enough to get into, but it's what we need for the location in our condo! It does a good job if getting the clothes clean, although I don't quite know how with how little water it uses, but you will use a lot less water and soap! Also has a great capacity, both washer and dryer, for a compact unit!
My only real complaint is washing heavier items, like our medium weight king size blanket which fits in the machine easily, but is very heavy when it gets wet. I have to pause the cycle before it spins to manually balance the load or it will sound like it's trying to kill itself! In fairness though, I had to do the same thing with the old machine, but I was expecting more from a brand new unit!
As for the dryer, there is a spot in the front upper right part of the drum that will occasionally catch the edges of things like drawstrings, collar tips etc. and twist them into a mess! We have to tie up all drawstrings and such before we put them in the dryer, a bit of a nuisance!

I grew up in Schenectady N.Y. the original place of GE, my father worked in their large machinery. I visited him and we always purchase GE appliances. Unfortunately this will probably be the last one I buy! From the first use I was shocked at the high pitch sound coming from the washer then when it came to the spin cycle the whole machine shook. It was level and the only things in it was two tee shirts one pair of socks and a pair of shorts they were equally distributed. I alway felt GE was a good name but not anymore. I will be going back to the seller to see if they will come get it without me paying for it and refund my money. Very disappointed.
