Love the different selection of burners but I find it hard to use with multiple pots cooking at the same time because the handles on the pots either don't all fit or they start getting very hot, especially the middle burner because there is nowhere for that handle to go. Also, I have a GE microwave above the stovetop and the heat travels to the handle of the microwave which gets extremely hot. That was a big unexpected when I went to open the microwave not realizing the handle would be so hot! A bit cumbersome to clean since you have to remove the racks each time to get to the base of the cooktop. Not a huge deal but just needs getting used to it. Lastly the Knobs started losing there stainless steel finish in less than a month! When I called the store where purchased they said they would replace them.

The knobs sit higher than the grates and are not made of stainless steel. They are plastic and are painted to look like stainless steel. When large pans are set across the grates, they rub the paint off the knobs. My knobs look terrible. They don't sell touch up paint, they don't sell stainless steel replacement knobs, and the plastic knobs are $14 each.

The stove works fine but knobs are fragile. they burn easily. all my 3 knobs got burnt with mild heat. its been only 3 weeks I started using this stove. you cannot keep griddles at front side and pot should be small. even if handles touches little bit with knobs, it will easily burn and chip.

I brought this model after reading the reviews. I would like to know who are these people writing the reviews. It is very cheaply made. My range has scratches on it from the day one. The knobs are made of out plastic even though they look like steel. The result little hot water spill on it and the knobs burn.
I brought this flattop because it was GE. I would not recommend anyone buy this even if they give you for free. Apart from the high BTU there is nothing good about this product.
Next time I would never buy any GE product.

Ultimately I like the cooktop, but the other cooktop that we had (another manufacturer,) the grates were hinged in the back making it easier to clean. I also feel that the stainless steel part is kind of "tinny" like. It also seems to scratch easier. Unfortunately we had no choice but to go with GE because that is what the builder uses.

This is a beautiful cooktop! I took one star off because of the rubber numbers that pop out when you clean the stovetop and the metal grates aren't attached in the back - I wish they were so you could easily lift them up to clean rather than having to take them off all together.
