I have used the cooktop for a month now, and I have the following comments. The actual cooking is pretty good. I find it hard to place the pans over the heating elements, because they have no external markings. I have to wait until the red shows to know exactly where the place the pan.
Also, the cooktop attracts grease and dirt. I have to clean it every day! I didn't have to keep cleaning the coil burner cooktop. In addition to frequency, it is pretty hard to clean, requiring two cleaners and a razor scraper. I didn't expect this level of maintenance.

A very nice cooktop that is appealing, easy to clean and works great. I am satisfied with most aspects of this unit except for one thing: the burners are identified with VERY faint circle lines; it's difficult to center the pan right on the burner until it actually lights up. And, because the glass top is so smooth, the pans slip around a lot, so when the burner isn't lit up, it's frustrating trying to recenter the pan on the burner.
Also, after the unit was first installed, one of the burners stopped working. Upon service, the tech found the electrical connector had popped off the post. Plugged it back in and all was fine. So, tech checked the others and found one other burner connector was not plugged in properly, and it too would likely have soon popped off.
So, with these minor issues I couldn't give it 5 stars. I would likely not buy this again, however, simply because the faint burner guideline makes cooking frustrating.

We waited nearly a month to get this cooktop delivered. Once connected and used FIRST TIME, there were circular spots under the glass that would not go away. I called company and they sent me a scraper and cleaner, even though I told them it was UNDER the glass. It has happened on two burners now. I will be making a second call to tell them that did not correct the problem. Very disappointed that after waiting so long to get new cooktop, it was damaged after first time using.

Had this cooktop installed about a month ago. We're very pleased with it. Cleanup is easy with a Cerambryte kit and microfiber cloth. Stainless steel knobs seem very solid. We can really fine-tune the heat of the burners for cooking success every time. Downdraft fan is quiet and powerful. My only quibble is that the cooktop is not very well sealed to the counter, meaning food is likely to get trapped in the narrow space there.

We bought this stove to replace an older JennAir that came with the house. Both have been my first experience with downdraft cooktops, which I do not prefer at all, but as it was explained, it would've been extremely costly to reroute ventilation. With that said the KitchenAid is much better than the older stove. It is beautiful. And based on other reviews I have been gentle and careful not to sliding things across the stove to keep from scratching. No problems so far. I clean after every use with a cooktop spray and microfiber cloth. It heats quickly and evenly. All in all this stove was a good choice for us.

I was excited to replace my coil electric stove top with this sleek design. Three years later, I am not so happy--I have tried all the products and still I cannot keep the surface clean. I can have a frying pan on low with a olive oil and food will burn without actually cooking. Today peppers were brown, almost black but not soft and cooked. I was watching and stirring them the whole time. The heat seems uneven. The paint has chipped in a number of places on the vent and needs replacing. I used to love to cook, but this cook top has made cooking less enjoyable.

Like I puchased this cooktop with overalll so happy reviews, first there was very little info on what else I need to purchase with this cooktop and I was told to go ahead because it should come with everything. Now there is No Greese filter to be found anywhere, and also there is no information on where it should be installed in the manuals, plus the picture itself is missing from the kitchenaid website plus the any other pieces you want to add like ductless kit, not available.... what a sham. never buying anything kitchenaid again.

I bought this cooktop and had it installed 2 weeks ago. I even refused to use it until I could get the Affresh recommended cleaning kit. Since then I have only used it 3 times--and only with my Kitchen Aid pots!--and it already has 2 scratches on it. I like that it heats evenly and has nice features but if this is what it looks like after 2 weeks, I can't imagine what it will look like in 2 years. We just moved into a new house and I was excited to get this brand new cooktop now I'm so disappointed I can hardly put it into words. I don't understand how it can be so delicate when I have followed all the manufacturer instructions to the letter.

We replaced our old JennAir electrical downdraft cooktop, which must be >30 years old, with this new one almost 10 days ago, and love it so far. Comparing to our old one, the exhaust fan is much quiet and powerful. The cooking elements heat up quickly and stay hot. The ceramic surface does need some tender care, after all the entire surface of the bottom of the pot has full contact on it when cooking, and heat creates residues from the pot. These light color resides on a black surface cooktop make it more apparent. Some of these residues can't be wiped off easily with just soap and water, but would need solution like Affresh which is recommended by the manufacture. We make an effort to take care of the surface daily, and so far so good. Our unit was assembled in the US, just like our last JennAir, and is one reason we chose it.

The cooktop looks great on the island with the new quartz countertop. We have received many compliments even from teenagers. It is very sleek and contemporary looking. It cook well and evenly too. It is important to clean after every use or one will see the residue from the previous cooking. Just had it a month so am learning more with each meal I prepare.

I bought this July 2018. It took three months to get it installed in September. I discovered three flaws underneath the glass. It was already out of warranty for blemishes by the time it was installed. Fortunately the second level customer service representative I spoke to understood my dilemma and approved the parts and labor for the cooktop replacement.

Every fingerprint shows & food bakes on easy. No problem if cooktop cleaner used. Design is poor in that the plastic knobs pop off and won't easily go back on. The big burners should be in rear only so large items that are taller, wider, and take longer to cook are not having to be reached over to get to other hot items. This seems common sense, but apparently not to designers.Takes forever for a 1-2 quarts of water to boil. Why can't it heat up faster to hot setting? 2 x now when a tiny drop of water (from plate on counter fresh out of dish water to dry) let a drip roll under cooktop edge it blew a burner out completely! There wasn't a puddle nor was it warm (a few drops and room temp), so no excuse. Now a knob has fallen thru the glass and the fan turns on randomly many times a day. Has cost us about 750+ in 3 repairs now & we have to replace it. For a family of 7 this isn't easy to do.

This cooktop was installed about a month ago and I'm really enjoying it. The down draft is good and the heating elements heat up quickly.

Happy that we selected this cooktop. Has some very usable features. Is easy to clean. Was leary about changing to the new style after 50 years of cooking on burners!! Find it is not that bad!! KitchenAid makes some good products.
