I can't even use my cooktop. If you spill anything on the burners they don't clean up. Kitchenaide sent us some cleaner. Really? Doesn't work at all. If you plan to actually use a cooktop for cooking do not purchase this model.

It is overalls good stove. One issue is that the grill on the stove has legs on it and that raises the height of the surface from the flame too much. Reducing the leg height would help the pots and pans being closer to the flame especially since the burner are below the surface line unlike a glass top stove.

We specifically bought this cooktop because of the left side burners being the same size. You'd think that would make cooking with a griddle easy as you don't have to fight the size of the flames front and back. Nope. It has a higher ridge in the middle, causing the griddle, or even a large pan to wobble. We've complained about it, and KitchenAid sent out a new set of grids. Same problem. Turns out it is a design flaw. KitchenAid said there is nothing wrong with it and won't do anything more for us as they claim no one else has made an issue of it and besides, that design was intention. Their "reasoning" makes no sense at all. So, when we go to replace the cooktop, we won't consider replacing it with a better designed cooktop made by KitchenAid. By the way, we did a complete kitchen remodel and not only bought that cooktop, we also bought a dishwasher, a double oven and a refrigerator...all by KitchenAid. So very disappointed they weren't interested in helping us with a replacement.

Bought as part of our kitchen remodel. We really wanted the stand-alone cooktop and wall oven. The burners are good. The center burner puts out a ton of heat, and boils a pot of water in no time. I'm so happy we switched from electric to gas.

I agree with the prior review. I expect better from Kitchen Aid. This model is a disappointment supplied by the builder. We used it three years in our former home and unfortunately we bought another new home that also came with the same model. It takes forever to boil water and after 2 years the gas burner control knob was loosening. Frankly our high end Kitchen built in stove was also a dissapointment. Kitchenaid isn't the quality it used to be.

Great looking cooktop. Had this cooktop for a month. You cannot simmer food such as rice or it will burn. When using the center burner on low simmer the flame frequently goes out which is dangerous and the design of the metal caps do not fit precisely on the burner. Would have purchased a different model or brand if I were aware of these issues. Waste of money.

I purchased this stovetop 2 months ago when I upgraded all of my kitchen appliances. This is a great cooktop, nice heavy but streamline design, good burners, easy to clean, and knobs that are easy to clean around. My only complaint is that the grates are not level...I thought is was an installation error or my pans but after checking the actual cooktop (it is level) and replacing some pans, they were still off. Butter/oil pools on one side, the downhill side of the pan...not good, makes cooking difficult, need to move the food around in the pan for it to cook evenly. I see others have this same problem, is there a design flaw in the grates?

My wife and I bought a KitchenAid 36" 5-bruner Gas cooktop for our new custom home along with five other KitchenAid appliances. After using them for a while we realized that we made the right brand choice. This cooktop is by far the best for controlling the flame over other brands that we previously owned in last home. The KitchenAid cooktop has a true low flame setting which was not the case on the other brands we had. In addition, the layout of the burners and the control knobs are well placed. This is truly a quality product that I would recommend to family and friends.

We purchased a new home and this cooktop was already installed. In the past, we have had commercial grade cooktops with black ceramic bases. I was concerned about keeping the stainless clean and scratch fee. It cleans up easily with soap and water. The other nice feature is it doesn't stick out past the counter top and the knobs are on top away from small hands!

We have been using this for about 2 months. New home and we chose the builder option of Kitchenaid appliances. Because the grates are not level, food does not cook evenly. When putting anything in your pans, the liquid runs to the front of the burner. We have highest quality pans and I have checked them for levelness. I got our level measurer out and the counter is level, pans are level, cooktop is level but when you check the grates, they are not! Extremely frustrating. I am going to see about getting it replaced under warranty. Reading other reviews, I see others have the same issue. I do not recommend this unit.

I have only had my stove for a few weeks, but I love it. The burner areas are big and sturdy and it really hats up whatever you are cooking quick. The simmer burner is a great addition too. Lifting the grill part is a little heavy for me to clean but I would still buy this again.
