We bought 3 of these about 9 months ago. They all work great. Sometimes it doesn't open and we have to run it again. Not sure why... we love the air freshener!

Great product but had to trade the integrated for the stainless steel model because the integrated panel would stick out an inch from the rest of the cabinets, thus making it UNINTEGRATED! MAKE SURE YOUR CABINET MAKER IS AWARE AND FABRICATES THE CABINETS AROUND IT 25" DEEP RATHER THAN THE STANDARD 24" !! SOO disappointing.....

I bought the compactor on line from Lowe's,. Under the picture it says custom panel and handle sold separately. There is no place to get the custom panel. Now I have a compactor without a panel that looks like bad in my new kitchen..

I have had a compactor for 24 years, by GE Monogram. Loved it, but it didn't have a foot pedal to open it. Finally purchased this panel ready version friom Kitcheb Aid & I have 2 problems with it (at a minimum)
1. Once you put the panel on, you hardly have room to step on the bar to open the door. I have creamy white cabinets that will always end up with footprints on the door.
2. The panel goes up so high, that you have to reach way over the machine, awkwardly, to throw the trash in. If it's a piece of plastice, it is sure to float & end up on the floor. It's about 18" or more, from the top of the panel to where the trash is. VERY AWKWARD & not practical for kids, due to the height.
Also, product arrive with a damaged/bent container. Kitchen Air did send someone out with a replacement & installed it, but overall, this unit is a turnoff to anybody who would think about getting a compactor.

A lot of people think trash compactors are outdated. However, I just love only having to take the trash out once a week! There are no odors from trash being in there too long and the inner lining prevents accidental leaks.

Finally got around to actually purchasing a compactor and I'm so glad I did. No more asking the kids to empty the trash. Or during a family get together and having to empty the trash multiple times. A must have for families or someone who just wants to get rid of the ominous trash can.

This is our third compactor since there is not a lot of different companies manufacturing these units you don't have much choice but the kitchen compactor has been a sturdy unit the first one lasted 7 years and the second unit lasted 8 years we will see how this one does

I grew up with a trash compactor because of the size of our family. So when we built our home we put one in even though we have a smaller family. Well, it's been 3 weeks and I haven't taken out the garbage yet where as before it was a daily chore. I love it!!
