It is a Commercial Grade Washer with a 5 year Warranty. My former Maytag lasted almost 40 years with no maintence. Hopefully this will be as durable. I regret that there is no way to know how many minutes are in the cycle or left in the cyle. Also, one can not manually lessen the minutes in a cycle as it is all set with the internal controls. There is no filter access to clean after each wash and it is unknown to me how that is being handled internally. I have added external traps to the exit hose and into the sink drain. These issues addressed in a future model would increase it's rating to 5 stars- but it is, at this time, a very sturdy washer. Sadly I must give 4 stars based on current limited experience.

No flat-screen computer to press or mother board to crash. Basic, easy and cleans so very well. Short, thus the Speed Queen name, washing cycle unless you want to add a extra rinse. A friend recommended Speed Queen to me and I LOVE THIS MACHINE!

The washing machine that was delivered was defective and made a horrible noise when operating. The company sent an authorized repair person to fix it and after two major service attempts, the problem was worse than when he started. My appliance retailer agreed to replace the machine even though the manufacturer wanted to continue to try and fix the original machine. The second machine was delivered with a huge dent in the front and the spin cycle would work. Given the high price of this machine I would not have expected to receive a new machine that didn't work properly from day

I purchased my Speed Queen 2 months ago. So far I am very pleased. It handles our Queen sized comforter as well as our regular daily washes. It uses HE detergent, be careful not to use too much or the suds back up the out hose. Clothes get thoroughly wet and clean.

I had previously bought Maytag Bravos top of line washers and dryers. They didn't even last 5 years. The Speed Queen set is so durable. The washing machine is very well made. It cleans my clothes so much better and so much FASTER. So far I love this set.

My first washer was a Speed Queen washer many years ago. I had only one service call in the 20+ years I had it. Since then, I have bought two washers within the same number of years that I owned the Speed Queen. I went back to Speed Queen because it is made in my state, its the quality that I prefer metal parts over the cheap plastic, loads are done in far less time. Clothes are clean and with the spin cycle, it doesn't take as long to dry the clothes. I have faith the machine will outlive me.

I spent more to get this brand because I have heard such great things. On my washer, the fabric softener piece must have been messed up, it will not say screwed on, and it always just falls off when I bump it with clothes or whatever. Seems cheap for such an expensive set.

One reason we selected the TC5 over any other model: We like the fast cycle time (28 minutes), but there are also options such as soak and extra rinse. In water-starved California, the "Normal Eco" cycle does an excellent job and saves water by using a "shower rinse" rather than filling up the tub again. When you need it, you have extra rinse, soak, and heavy duty cycles as well as a gentle cycle. As an electrical engineer, I appreciate the judicious use of modern electronics - such as replacing the mechanical timer with electronics. Also, I think the transmission design is ingenious - if the motor goes one direction, the system agitates, and the other direction is for spin mode. I'm glad you don't need solenoids as some models historically do. My advice to customers? Make sure you are using the right setting for the right clothing.

I have heard great reviews but this machine is nothing special. As soon as we purchased it we noticed a crack in the lid frame. According to the Speed Queen rep, they are not in the business of replacing a product even though you spend double for this machine as compared to the average washing machine on the market. We had to contact a local tech company this is a part of their warranty team 4 months ago and are still waiting for a new washing machine lid. Don't waste your time.

Wanted a machine that was built well delivered a full tub of water and would agitate clothes to get them clean pre HE washers. This machine delivers. Our last washer an HE delivered very little water and had an impeller and did clean clothes and the nylon main gear had to be replaced after 3 years. We are happy as can be with this washer that is " made to last 25 years" and delivers water, suds, and agitation.

Machine only offers two load sizes. Large and extra large. The delicate cycle does not wash clothes well. I have to put it on soak feature & extra large load. I think the problem with the machine is the agitator which does not work well to move the clothes as I have checked it during the delicate cycle. I like the stainless steel tub. But for some reason my clothes do not smell like anything when they come out of the wash (like a clean detergent smell). Maybe I need to try and add a fabric softener. Not sure. The machine does have a wide mouth for putting the clothes in. It also is not as wide as my last 20 year old machine but is a little taller.

This is my 2nd Speed Queen washer and I wish I would have repaired my old one. There are only two water levels to choose from whereas with my old one I had a choice of 5! The spin cycle doesn't spin fast enough and it takes an extra cycle for both my towels and sheets to remove the water. To me, I waste water instead of saving and use more electricity. I would not recommend

We are very disappointed that a washing machine of this cost and quality did not come with an instruction manual.
