I bought this as a Columbus day sale for a great price and so glad I did - the features are endless. Best features are the sensor settings where it AUTOMATICALLY decides when it is done - and always correct. The popcorn button also pops all kernals !! not like most others. It is very attractive as well and fits almost all over the range places. It also plays a cute music tone when the cook cycle is done.

Unit I had before was a Kitchen Aid(whirlpool) & loved it. It was a 1000 watt and the new one is 1000 watts. Have had to add about 20% more time to get it to cook the same on 100%. Also on the popcorn setting same brand out of same box, old unit would finish with about 5 popcorn kernel not popped, on new unit there are about 25-30 kernels NOT popped???

Purchased this microwave to replace a seventeen year old Whirlpool that performed great for many years. The build and fit of this one is nowhere the quality of the old one. Each time you press a button on the control panel the metal front moves and makes an irritating metal on metal noise. The oven power and ability to heat evenly is acceptable, but not as good as my old oven when it was fifteen years old. Unit is just not the quality that Whirlpool is known for.

I bought this to replace a Whirlpool Gold Series we had for 17 years. It finally gave out. This one is slightly larger at 1.9 cu. Ft. vs 1.7 cu. ft. and has all the features of our old oven plus some new ones. We have had it about a month now and it is working well.
Fit right in where we removed the old one. Only two minor glitches we don't like. Both having to do with lighting. The over range light is in the rear and the interior light is very dim. Our old one had the over range light up front for good illumination and the interior light was much brighter. Interior wise I think the big difference is the old one had a white lattice work in the glass and this one has a black lattice work.

We've only had our new microwave for a week but are really enjoying it! We were hesitant to purchase another Whirlpool Microwave because it was replacing our 5 year old Whirlpool whose front door was cracking more and more. It of course cracked shortly after the warranty ran out. It was working well but, the cost to replace the door was going to be about as much as replacing the whole unit. We decided to give Whirlpool another chance. We like the option of the wire rack. The auto sensing cooking of vegetables, baking potatoes and reheating casseroles is so easy to use and cooks perfectly. You just select the applicable button and the microwave prompts you then takes over. The exhaust fan works much better and the over the stove light is nicer too. The store we purchased from suggested that the placement of our previous microwave's handle may have contributed to the cracking. This model's handle doesn't mount into that top or bottom strip
area so we're hoping that won't happen again. So far we are very happy and hopeful for a very long term relationship with this microwave.

Previously owned a 2004 Whirlpool Microwave and it lasted 15 years! Have had this one for about 6 months and so far have experienced the same quality, with more features, and even nicer build. I've had this microwave about a month. It works good. I miss my one touch buttons from my last GE microwave, sadly it only lasted two years so we are trying another brand.
The exhaust fan is a bit noisy on high, but it works fine. The door is dark so you cannot see inside when it is cooking. The light for the cooktop is in the back of the microwave bottom so it's not as bright as my previous microwave that was had a light toward the front of the microwave.

This was installed about a week ago and the microwave seems to rattle and vibrate. it could be due to improper installation as the delivery team was in a big hurry and left a bunch of trash that I had to cut up and deal with. Back to the microwave, it seems to be working fine; however, the location of the light over the range is toward the back and I would prefer it towards the front as my previous Kenmore design was better.

I loved my old whirlpool microwave but one feature I loved on my old is missing on the new. On my old microwave you could touch a number on the keypad and it would run for that many minutes. No other button, touch 5, it would run for 5 minutes. Other than that, it's great.

I am not happy with the lighting output on this microwave (both outside and inside). The light at the back of the microwave doesn't give any light to the front of a cooktop or stove top which leaves the front of the cooktop or stove top dark. I will have to install under the cabinet lights to see the food cooking on the front of my cooktop. The light should have been placed in the middle of the oven, or, lights along both sides of the oven. The light in the interior isn't any better. The light is so dim you can barely see what's cooking inside. Whirlpool makes good products. I wished this microwave had been plugged in when I looked at the display, then I would have chosen a microwave with a better placement of the lights and brighter lights.

The WHITE microwave has a dark gray bottom panel that is clearly visible. I was excepting an ALL white microwave not a two tone. Also there is a 1/8 " gap between the bottom panel and the unit. It is seen when the range light is on. I am concerned about the dirt and grease that will collect in this area. The only way I can see to clean it to remove the panel with about 12 screws. Not a good design for cleaning.
