There is a large gap between the shelves and back of the fridge. There isn't even trim to stop things from sliding off! Also you are very limited where the shelves can be placed. Huge design flaw. If anyone has a hack to fix this please post it.

We've had this appliance for just over a month and have had nothing but problems with the freezer. It frosts over, then doesn't freeze at all, then frosts over again. Repairman says part would come in within a week but still waiting. Not impressed.

We purchased this fridge from Blvd Home in St George UT - the unit was handled with care by the delivery team but when it was plugged in the compressor made a terrible high pitched whining noise - the installers told us we had to call for service which we did - the Whirlpool authorized service technician checked the unit and said the compressor would have to be replaced - a brand new unit and the compressor had to be replaced which we are still waiting on since the first replacement compressor was received damaged from Whirlpool - I would strongly advise anyone considering Whirlpool refrigerators to choose another brand...

I got rid of my GE because it had all these unnecessary nooks and crannies in the drawers and under the shelves. Gunk would get stuck in these places, and I couldn't get it out. I felt as if I was harboring unknown germs and other crud in my kitchen. When I looked at this model, I checked first for nooks and crannies. There aren't any, so I wrote a check.
Also the wide drawer across the bottom of the GE was nearly impossible to remove. It also had an open bottom, so anything that got spilled ended up under the fridge, on the floor where it was impossible to clean up.
I wanted a fridge with the center drawer. But it was only available with the water fountain inside. That took up too much space, and wasn't necessary for me.

I love the double doors and huge capacity of this fridge! Automatic icemaker is very cool, so nice not to deal with ice cube trays. Lots of room in freezer.
Not sure why but left hand door on my fridge doesn't always completely close and it might take awhile to realize it is actually open about an inch or so - wasting electricity! So training ourselves to always double-check that door has closed solidly

Refrigerator installed by Lowes Saturday. Two days later still not one ice cube and ice cream in freezer is getting soft. Electronic Temperature control is on a 0-7 scale but owners manual shows a Temperature Control setting gauge in degrees. So manual doesn't match the equipment. Settings were put at 4 for both refrigerator and freezer on install and are the "recomended" setting. May return .

I just had installed yesterday and so far very quite.
If anyone is having noise problems, make sure you put the front feet or stabilizers down. To set, unscrew the two screws at the bottom of the front of frig. Its a plastic vent or grill that exstends to cover wheels.
Once removed take a small cresrent wrench and lower the two rubber feet to the floor firmly. This also keeps frig from pulling forward when opening freezer as it is tightly fitted ( which is really good).
I also saw where someone said about the ice not being of the filtered water. If you have a filtered unit, I positive that the filter covers both the the icemaker and cold water dispenser.
Third, people have posted pics of rust spots on the stainless doors.
People think that if its stainless it wont rust. Yes it will and says so in the service book sent with unit. I have all stainless products without a spot of rust.
I use stainless steel metal polish in an aerosol form and apply with microfiber clothes only. The pics I saw posted of rust, the frigs look very dull and not cared for.
Give your stainlee a quick wipedown once a week and youl never have any rust problem.
I will post again in a moth or two and review my purchase.

We have had this now for a few weeks. It's replaced our 18 month old unit (different style) that Whirlpool had repaired 5 times for the same problem before realizing it was a defective unit. Although this is a much cheaper model..(and 2 cu ft smaller). at least it works. I gave 4 stars because it is not as well made (structurally). You have to make sure the freezer door is pushed closed because it doesn't slide as easy as the other did. Also instead of a solid interior in the freezer there is a basket. The ice bin is too small & doesn't have a high enough back & sometimes the ice will drop to the back which I have to pick up. I do have to say that the icemaker works awesome. It almost makes too much ice! The refrigerator part is good. It does have a space in the back between the shelf where things could potentially fall thru but it hasn't really been an issue for me as of yet. It is a little noisy when the unit is running. Very basic adjustments compared to what I had before but in this case....
having less options ..there is less that can go wrong.

I was so excited about this fridge. It looks good and it has tons of room. They finally installed yesterday and... gosh! It makes tons of humming noises. The fridge I had before was not a good one but i never heard it! I can't believe that an expensive fridge like this would be worst than a cheap one. I will go home tonight and decide if I want to keep it or not, it has been 24 hours - hopefully I can exchange it.
